The game is a great adaptation to cross platform play. It runs well looks great and feels like a Forza game should.
However its missing a hallmark of the Forza Motorsport series, without the ability to upgrade the car or develop paint schemes for the cars the game feels like its missing the personal feel. While the game does provide an excellent racing experience, it lacks the personalized feeling that kept me coming back to the Forza Motorsport series. I look for serious improvements to the customization and painting capabilities in the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7. Forza Apex might not be the full version, don't let that discourage you however as the game is really well built on the PC. The game runs great across a wide variety of hardware with options to customize it down to every fact of the game. One of the coolest aspects of the game - something I wish we see more often on PC - is dynamic optimization.

With dynamic optimization, the game lowers and ups the visuals depending on the frame rate. So whenever the frame rate drops below 60 for example, the game will automatically lower the graphics to make it go higher again.
This happens seamlessly and is not noticeable from my play. Despite being Free to play, the game is very fair and makes it very much possible to enjoy the entirety of the game without spending a dime. In a nutshell: Great sim racing game with terrific presentation optimized to the brim. I've been a fan of the series since FM:4 on the Xbox 360. I am very excited to have the chance to play this game on the PC platform. The game looks great but the cars don't feel realistic, lacking a turning radius. I Really want this series to succeed on PC.
So take this as constructive criticism. Free is awesome! The level of details on both the cars and tracks are top notch. It makes sense to have a limited number of car, tracks and tuning options for this version of the game. However my concerns I have about game are far more extensive than the praise unfortunately. I do not like the medal system. Microtransactions hidden behind medals is scummy.
In-game earned $ made more sense. The lack of diverse car makes is upsetting as well. Online and cross-platform play would make this game more enjoyable. The game runs smooth most of the time with random spikes in fps drops out of nowhere. Lastly I think baiting people in to buying an Xbox One for the game on the console feels wrong. I thought for free how good can it be?
Well, I haven't spent a dime on it yet and I love it. I play on a Logitech G920 and its awesome. I run a GTX 1070 and get a solid 100 fps average on ultra settings at 1440p.
It looks awesome. As far as realism goes I don't really know.
Ive never driven any of these cars on a track, but they do a really good job at making it feel legit AF. I may be a piss poor driver, but from my perspective this has a pretty steep learning curve. I run all assists off except racing line.
