Click to expand.First of all, like TJ said, even though you don't see game.dll in Mojo's 'Find game.dll' window, if you go the folder, type 'game.dll', and click 'Open' it will probably work. Second, if the following info doesn't help, let me know and maybe I'll change the way Mojo does this so the problem can't occur. (Maybe I'll replace that window with one that selects a folder instead of a file.) It's possible that this has something to do with changes that Microsoft made to Windows 7 compared to Vista. I wrote Mojo on Vista and never tested on Windows 7. When you search through Mojo, you are using a window called the Open File Dialog.
This is part of Windows. When you search from the desktop or My Computer or Start button, you're using a program called Explorer. This is also part of Windows. Both these things are written by Microsoft.
On Vista, both these things use the same settings so they should always work identically. On Windows 7, Microsoft introduced a replacement for the Open File Dialog so maybe, as a result, on Windows 7 the two things behave differently, I don't know. I have two guesses about what's happening. The first - we all make this kind of mistake frequently - is that you're looking at two different folders. The second guess is that your problem has something to do with folder settings.
There are at least two settings that could affect whether you see game.dll. In Vista, which is all I have here, one is called 'Hide extension for known file types.' If this is checked, you would see 'game' instead of 'game.dll' as the name of the file. The other setting, in Vista, is called 'Do not show hidden files and folders.' If this is checked, and game.dll somehow (accidentally) got set to be hidden, game.dll would become invisible. The names of these settings may have changed slightly in Windows 7. I can't tell you how to look at these settings in Windows 7.
In Vista I don't think you can reach them from the Open File Dialog (that's the selection window displayed by Mojo), but maybe you can in Windows 7. If you can't, you can try opening the folder with Explorer (that's the program you use when you examine a folder from the desktop, My Computer, or Start button) and check the settings from there. In Vista, in Explorer, it's Tools:: Folder Options:: View.
If you don't see 'Tools,' press Alt to display the menu. Click to expand. It's multi-purpose. Among other things, it does quick logins, but it does them in an especially convenient way. You click an icon of your toon in Mojo's window and next thing you see, DAOC is running with that toon standing in the game. Mojo also does the following: - Brightens the screen when DAOC is the foreground window.
Automatically backs up DAOC's config files so you don't lose them after a forced respec or crash. Allows you to run more than two DAOCs per PC. Helps avoid DAOC's memory leak crashes by increasing DAOC's address space, and keeps making this fix automatically after patches (64 bit Windows only). Parses chat logs (incomplete).

Shows all your toons in a graphical UI arranged by server, class, realm, etc. Imports toons semi-automatically from game config files. Not so sure that was the problem. I know for a fact mine wasn't hidden, and I was able to replicate the problem he was having, but with no level of accuracy.
When I was trying to figure out what he was talking about at first, it happened to me a couple times going through the process, hence why I posted what I did about it not being there. Sometimes the only things that would show in the folder were html links to mythic pages, no folders etc. Other times it would be just folders with no game files. Not sure if any of this info will help, and have no clue what would be causing the problem, I haven't tried to replicate it since.

This is a freeshard DAoC server. Information of the server can be found at or just google Gensis DAoC if you prefer. DAoC can be freely downloaded, the client, from the official game sites website. Information on getting set up to play on the Gensis server can be found here:. Just download the game via the official download, patch the game via the official loader, download the gensis launcher, click the Options tab, then you can check to see if you have the appropriate game.dll file, if not, within the launcher you can achieve the appropriate file(s). The community is rather small.

There are members of the game that speak English, German, French, and other languages. Mainly English is spoken, rarely I will find someone who doesn't speak English. I only know some Japanese and speak English natively so uselessly I just don't communicate or google translate if needed. Basically, the population isn't that big, only around 300+ players can be found online during peak times from what I have seen personally. However, you can level.
You can find groups. The level 5-9 battlegrounds and 40-44 battlegrounds are the most popular and during peak hours it seems there is usually 1 full group at least in the Hibernia realm, which I play on. I wanted to get the word out about this server as I have had a great time and I wouldn't mind having great battlegrounds and even realm vs. Realm experiences which I think having a larger population is necessary for this, though you can have good RvR experience(s), they just seem to occur no where near as frequently as I would like to see/experience because of the (relative to this aspect of this game) low population. Anyways, hope to see some of you online. If I recall correctly, the playerbase started to drop drastically when the 'i50 scandal' was made public. The GM's allowed a Mid guild to have 50's on Albion (which was very underpopped at the time) and gave them plat to get started there, since they had already invested so much time on Mid.
It sounds nice in theory but up many other players (myself included) had already switched realms the normal way in the name of realm balance by deleting their 50's and creating characters on a new realm, seeing as at the time no one knew that this i50 thing was being offered to anyone. The devs later claimed it was a trial of a program they were planning to implement on a larger scale, but the playerbase collectively flipped their shit when they found out about it. Combine this with the frustration of a lot of players due to the shaky launch and you have the recipe for a mass exodus away from the server. It's a shame, because I do think the devs had good intentions and just made a really poor decision, and it really is a good server - I have 2 level 50's there and it was the most MMO fun I've had in years - but at this point I'm not sure it will ever make a comeback unless Uthgard 2.0 just doesn't ever happen. Too many people have sworn off the server completely and refuse to even try it out again due to bad feelings left over from the first month or two after launch, and for those who do want to keep playing there the pop is just too low and the community needed to make DAoC shine just isn't there anymore. Part of me still hopes that the freeshard community will get tired of waiting for Uthgard 2.0 without any updates from the devs there and will start coming back to Genesis. They have done a great job with the server recently and have really gotten their shit together - it's quite stable now and a lot of the bugs that were present at launch have been fixed.
They just need players and a larger community now. I would love to wake up one morning and see 700+ players on Genesis.
